Meeting This Thursday!

Our first meeting is this Thursday at 5:30! We will have a potluck dinner. Please bring a meal to share! Can someone please bring a dessert? Just leave a comment saying you will. Caren will probably make cookies or something too.

We want to use this website as a way for the group to communicate with us and each other, (for questions, meal planning etc.) so check it for new information and lesson review, and feel free to ask questions about dinner or the lesson, or just comment on something!

Proverbs study

Thursday, October 22nd kicks off our new family fold. Twice a month we will meet at our house for dinner. Once a month we will have a Bible study. Kids are welcome! (Don't worry, Mr. T won't be there!) After dinner and a time of singing, the little kids (6 and under) can go next door to Krista K. and Stephanie H.'s house (our old apartment) for a structured play time!

We will start things out with a study in Proverbs. Proverbs 1:7 reads, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. Only fools despise wisdom and discipline." This verse is the foundation for understanding the book of Proverbs, and will be the foundation for our study. Fearing the Lord is not cowering away from Him or being scared of Him, it simply is just putting Him first in our lives. Jesus before all else.

I hope to do a little recap of each time we meet on this blog as a way to keep the study fresh in our minds.

This page will also be a good communication tool for planning meals and other activities. Having said that, what sounds good for our first meal? Dinner starts at 5:30!
